Paper kicks off campaign

The Scottish Socialist Party has launched its campaign for the Holyrood elections with the distribution of 50,000 campaign newspapers in the Lothians.

Party spokesman Colin Fox pledged that the SSP would scrap council tax and replace it with a new tax increasing the share paid by the richest.

He said the party was committed to public ownership of services and utilities and would introduce free public transport and school meals.
