Police plea after woman attacked

POLICE are appealing for two men who may have seen a woman shortly before she was rendered unconscious to come forward.

The 31-year-old woman was grabbed from behind in an unprovoked assault near McKenzie Bridge in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh on Friday night. Detectives believe it was a sexually motivated attack.

The victim is 5ft 5in and had her hair tied back in a ponytail. She was wearing a grey blouse, jeans and pink shoes. The woman, who was treated in hospital for minor injuries, saw the two men in India Place at about 9:30pm. Detectives stressed the men were not suspects.
