Wood on path to recovery

NEWBATTLE Abbey College's Lord Ancrum's Wood is on the path to recovery after work started on a £100,000 development programme.

The project, funded through investment from Forestry Commission Scotland, will improve existing pathways and make better use of the ancient woodland that surrounds the college.

The 100,000 investment has allowed for contractors to lay an all-weather footpath along the river to upgrade walkways and to improve high areas of the woodland to allow for easier access for future work.
