Houston happy as Dow signs new deal

Dundee United youngster Ryan Dow has signed a two-year contract extension. The 20-year-old wide player has secured his future until May 2014 after forcing his way into the first team.

Dow, who enjoyed a loan spell at Forfar towards the end of last season, has eight appearances for United and scored his first goal in last month’s 2-0 win over Airdrie in the League Cup.

Manager Peter Houston said: “It was important for the club to have secured Ryan. Although still young, he has played a part in the first-team squad this season and young, hungry players like Ryan are very much the future of our football club.

“If he keeps learning his trade in the manner he already does, he will be a fixture in the first team here at Dundee United for many seasons.”
