Lunn shines as Bathgate edge seven-goal thriller

Bathgate took home the spoils in this seven-goal thriller with Musselburgh thanks to keeper Marc Lunn producing a Man of the Match performance.

In the first half he produced three fantastic saves to keep Musselburgh out, none better than a fingertip save over the bar from a Paul Tansey piledriver.

Musselburgh had the bulk of the pressure and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 23rd minute. Bathgate keeper Lunn blocked a Kris Renton effort out to Tansey who coolly slotted the ball home.

Bathgate's response was immediate. They forced a free-kick just inside the home half. Gary Fallon took it, sending over a long high ball and Marco Andrionni rose to glance a header into the net. Then, just before half-time, Bathgate took the lead. After a mad scramble in the Musselburgh box Andrionni forced the ball over the line.

The concluding four goals came in the last ten minutes. First Tansey beat two Bathgate central defenders to drive the ball home and level the match.

Then Bathgate grabbed the lead again, Colin Leiper forcing the ball into the net after yet another scramble.

Not to be outdone Musselburgh's Chris King then scored the goal of the game with a 30-yard screamer to level the score once again.

But with only a couple of minutes remaining Bathgate scored the winner.

Alex Lurinski let fly from thirty yards out. The ball beat the keeper but came back off the bar to rebound off the keeper's back and into the net.
